Library Practices
Our engagement with multiple schools has shed light on the inadequate library resources and underutilization of space and materials. These shortcomings have resulted in minimal impact on fostering reading skills and cultivating a passion for literature among students. Therefore, our program aims to revitalize these spaces by transforming traditional libraries into vibrant learning environments, fostering a culture of reading and inquiry.

Leveraging a proven model for library transformation, which has been rigorously field-tested, we are confident in our ability to effect positive change. As a part of this initiative, we provide comprehensive training to both librarians and lower primary language teachers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to facilitate and oversee library activities effectively. Through these concerted efforts, we are dedicated to nurturing a generation of avid readers and lifelong learners.
The objectives of the program are to,
-
orient the management, heads and librarian of the schools to transform library into learning space.
-
orient librarians and primary level language teachers to assess the reading ability of children
-
orient librarians and primary level language teachers to organise and conduct library activities for children
-
enhance the reading ability of children and create a love for books
